Commenting in 1939 on the fact that her fiance, Robert Taylor, at 28, was four years younger than she, which raised eyebrows then, Stanwyck said: “The boy`s got a lot to learn and I`ve got a lot to teach”.

A rose by any other name…..

“Yes, I now feel that it was then on that evening of sweet dreams- that the very first dawn of human love burst upon the icy night of my spirit. Since that period I have never seen nor heard your name without a shiver half of delight, half of anxiety.”

~~ Edgar Allan Poe

I have to be honest–most scene names, particularly Femdomme names tend to illicit my inner snark.  Perhaps it’s because I have a hard time taking myself that seriously.  I could never insist that someone refer to me as “Goddess” without snickering.  I understand that a scene name can help set a  mood or further a fantasy.  But to insist that you be treated with absolute devotion and reverence (even outside the dungeon) just because you’re a “Domme” is redonculous.   In fact, I tend to think it denotes a certain lack of confidence.  And honestly, what’s so dominant about that?  Plain Kate suites me just fine, thank you.

“When I’m good I’m very, very good but when I’m bad I’m better.”
Mae West.
